How do I know this? - Because I am one of those responsible for bombarding you with said information, and with previous posts like "Events on and around Sydney Harbour" and Australia Day History" it is no wonder you are suffering from information overload.
I mean, you just want to go out on the Harbour on Australia Day and celebrate the occasion with your friends and family - along with the rest of Sydney of course.
So in the interest of your sanity and a good story I thought we would take a look at all the things that are available to do on Australia Day and simply eliminate those that are clearly not going to be enjoyable or capture the spirit of the day this January 26
What NOT To Do on Australia Day
It's all well and good to want to get into the spirit of the day but that doesnt mean you have to ruin it for everyone else ;)
WIth so much going on around Sydney, and with the bulk of the action happening on or right next to the harbour the only real tip I can give you is this:
Do NOT spend your day on dry land away from the harbour itself.
why? Ummmm because THIS
That being said, the best way to get really close to the action and guarantee yourself a truly immersive experience come January 26 is to hire a boat and enjoy an Australia Day Cruise aboard one of the many vessels we have available at Any Boat.
The program guide and events list planned for Australia Day 2016 includes:
- Tug and yacht Ballet
- Harbour Parade
- Tall Ships Race
- In the Sky: Red Berets and Russian Roolettes
- Smoking Ceremony
- Cruising Concert
- Morning Indigenous Ceremony
- Salute to Australia
- Australia Day Regatta
- P&O Cruise ships in the harbour

Alternatively, if you are looking for front row seats to the spectacular line up of events planned on and around Sydney Harbour this January 26 then I strongly recommend Australia Day Cruises as the best way of immersing yourself in the day and truly indulging in the experience that is Australia Day on Sydney Harbour
